Wondering when you’ll get a chance to do the gardening again? Your delegates attending the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh could meet the venue’s market gardeners and learn about the produce grown exclusively for our restaurants whilst possibly picking up some tips for their own vegetable patch.

For history buffs, there are two very different ways to look into the past. For football mad event guests at Hampden Park they can enjoy a complimentary guided tour of Scottish Football Museum and Hall of Fame. Pose with the European Cup, or even Sir Alex Ferguson (both replicas of course!). The Scottish FA is the second oldest Football Association in the world and is a founder member if the International Football Association Board (responsible for worldwide control of football’s ‘Laws of the Game’). Many items in the Scottish FA’s collection at the museum rate amongst the oldest in world football.

If local history is more appropriate for your event, an occasion at the Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds will prove fascinating. Delegates there can visit the local museum Moyse’s Hall. For almost a thousand years it has looked out over the Market Place of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. It has seen many changes since it was built in 1180 and has had a variety of different uses, including a tavern and a ‘gaol’. As a museum it provides an excellent setting in which to trace the unfolding story of West Suffolk, through displays which range from prehistoric times right through to the present.

Venues don’t get much more historic than majestic Knebworth House, set in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside. The romantic exterior with its turrets, domes and gargoyles silhouetted against the sky does little to prepare you for what to expect inside. The House has stood for many years longer than the Victorian decoration suggests and the stucco hides from view a red brick house dating back to the Tudor times. Events booked in one of the spacious barns on site will benefit from complimentary Afternoon Tea as delegates enjoy the grandeur of their surroundings.

There are many other complimentary offers at interesting venues across the country.
